Birth Announcements – Best Themes for Boys

Sending out birth announcements is a good way of telling your loved ones that you have a new member of the family. While most will already be aware that a child is on the way, this is a way of announcing that the birth was successful, and that the mother and baby are happy and healthy. Good cheer is spread through these small notices, which are well worth preparing in advance to make them easier to send out after the fact. When you have a little boy, there are a few themes that are more popular than others, which you may wish to consider for your announcement types.

Trains are a theme that has been quite popular for boy’s birth announcements in recent years. That or a Wild West theme could be ways to start off your baby’s image in the eyes of others with an adventurous spirit. The color blue of course plays a strong role in these designs, so that it is very clear that your child is a boy. However, green and yellow have also slowly been gaining in popularity as more gender-neutral options. A rainbow theme or anything sunny tends to fit with the cheerful news that you are spreading.

Including photographs is also a good way of drawing in your recipient. The first thing that anyone wants to see when they find out that you have a new baby boy is a picture of the baby. You can help immediately satisfy them by including this in your birth announcements, either inserted separately into the envelope or printed directly onto the announcements themselves. Some more creative options would be to have chocolate wrappers or little cakes with the baby’s face printed onto them, for a sweet surprise that will be memorable to recipients.

There is no shortage of room for creativity when it comes to birth announcements for boys. However, it is always a good idea to start thinking about this in advance, so that you are prepared for the time when it comes. Babies grow and change appearance quite quickly, so if this is your first baby in particular, you will want to document those first few days after birth and then notify those who would be interested by sending out announcements quickly and efficiently. If you have the announcements already to go, then you can be sure that this process won’t take up too much of your time and energy after birth.

Why I Chose Organic Parenting

The media inundates us with information regarding harmful ingredients in our food, cleaning products, and even our clothing. I never paid this much mind until we found out we were having a baby. After reading some articles, I realized that making the move to an organic lifestyle would be better for my family. Only organic products are used in our home and the change was well worth the effort.

Our shift began by switching over to organic cleaning products and laundry detergent. Organic cleaning wipes and spray cleaners feature botanical disinfectants that maintain a sanitary environment. Paper products in our home are made from recycled organic materials. Our hand wash, soap, shampoo, and conditioner feature only plant-derived ingredients. These products smell and work just as well as the traditional versions that contain harsh chemicals. I even found chlorine-free, organic feminine care products and recycled trash bags.

In anticipation of the baby, I bought organic diapers that are both non-irritating and hypoallergenic. They feature no fragrance, latex, petroleum-based lotions, or chlorine. We also purchased chlorine-free baby wipes that contain a gentle cleansing agent and no dyes or fragrances. A review of standard baby clothes revealed that some of these contain harsh synthetic fabrics. We found organic baby clothes that are gentle on a child’s sensitive skin, come in fashion colors, and do not fade after repeated washing.

Changing to organic food was probably the most difficult thing to do because we had to find the right stores. We decided to begin ordering some non-perishable items online because the prices were competitive and free shipping was included. For other items, we visit our local natural foods store. During the summer months, one local farm market sells organic produce and we have become regular customers.

An organic lifestyle extends to all purchases, including furniture and linens. My husband and I now ensure that furniture is made from sold hardwoods and organic upholstery and is free of toxins. Our towels and bedding are made from organic fibers and we are gradually incorporating other organic elements into our home such as curtains and rugs.

As an asthma sufferer, I can attest that going organic has made a difference in my health. I no longer feel congested or experience fits of coughing. My doctor has even lowered my dosage of asthma medication. Our little boy had the benefit of being born into an organic household and we hope this will enable him to lead a healthy life.

Going Organic: Raising Healthy Kids

Parents know it is important to protect their children from predators who want to kidnap or harm them. But, what about the predators that lurk within the home or general environment? Toxins are all around us and it is important to safeguard our children from these because at a young age, they are unable to protect themselves. There are several things we can do to prevent the elements from harming our kids.

The sun can cause burns and skin cancer. Children spend a lot of time playing in the sun so keep their skin protected. Lather some high SPF sunscreen on children before they go outside and provide them with a hat and sunglasses. Even if children will be moving around during play or sports, they are still exposed to the sun. Cover them with clothing as the temperature permits because this can prevent mosquito bites and sunburn.

Using organic cleaning products and keeping the home free of dirt and dust can prevent children from getting respiratory illnesses and disease. Traditional cleaners contain harmful chemicals that can be toxic to young children. Only plant-based ingredients are used in organic products but these items should still be kept out of reach of children. Using recycled paper products helps reduce the amount of trees that are cut down, improving air quality for our children and ourselves.

Consider using organic soap, shampoo, and clothes detergent because these are gentler on skin and do not contain chemical ingredients. Organic clothing is made for children and adults and eco-friendly practices are used when harvesting the organic wool and cotton. This clothing looks just as attractive as pieces made from synthetic materials, yet it is gentler on the skin. Parents can find organic baby clothes, booties, socks, hats, and blankets for their little ones.

Children have healthier teeth then when are frequently exposed to small levels of fluoride. They should brush with a fluoride toothpaste twice per day and drink fluoridated water. Those with high risk for tooth decay can take dietary supplements or use special mouth rinses. Children should wash their hands after sneezing, coughing, eating, and using the restroom.

Feeding our children healthy foods can increase their resistance to airborne contaminants, bacteria, and viruses. We should make sure they eat well even when at school or a friend’s house. By encouraging healthy habits like these, we help prevent sickness and disease. Children tend to incorporate these good habits and pass them along to their own children in later years.
